Jewish Response to Anti-Semitism

Introducing
Bein Yisroel Lo'amim
A global Jewish organization with the goal of undermining the foundations of anti-Semitism
that have led to so many tragedies in the past.

This organization will:

  1. Improve Jewish-gentile relations by spreading the truth about Judaism and rebutting the lies spread by anti-Semites.
  2. Honor the righteous gentiles of the world by publicizing their acts of aid to Jews together with their biographical information.
  3. Make sure that the Jewish people is represented by Jews with only Jewish survival in mind, not organizations with agendas of their own.
  4. Challenge all those responsible for spreading lies and hatred, from writers to booksellers.

We all know too well what anti-Semites can do when they put their evil thoughts into action. The destruction of European Jewry is still within living memory. Some of the perpetrators of that destruction have been prosecuted by the world.  But we often forget that those who commit crimes against the Jewish people were raised in a world inundated with anti-Semitic propaganda.  The writers of that propaganda are to be blamed for the actions taken by their readers. Yet many of those writers still retain a positive reputation today. By rebutting anti-Semitic writers, we will be saving Jewish lives.

Furthermore, many anti-Semites, in their efforts to vilify the Jewish people, have focused on certain passages in the Talmud which, they claim, prove that the Talmud considers gentiles less than human and permits Jews to kill, steal from and cheat gentiles. Such propaganda, supported with inaccurate, misleading and out of context quotations, has always existed, and formed the substance of many Jewish-gentiles debates over the centuries. However, today the problem is perhaps greater than ever due to the widespread accessibility of this material via the Internet.

There already exist secular Jewish organizations that claim to be working to reduce anti-Semitism. Actually, however, their finger-pointing techniques, as well as their practice of branding as an “anti-Semite” anyone who does not support their political goals, have contributed to anti-Semitic feeling rather than reduced it.

Still others claim that danger to Jews in the world is inevitable, and as a solution they give the Jewish people only one place to run. It is never wise to put all the eggs in one basket, and when that basket itself is being challenged, it is even more unwise. Bein Yisroel Lo’amim rejects their philosophy as a method of saving Jews.

The claim that there can be a political solution to anti-Semitism has been proven wrong again and again over the past century, costing the Jewish people dearly. Today’s proponents of this “solution” barely believe in it themselves.  At every opportunity they are leaving the “survival solution” paradise to vacation worldwide, making sure they have investments and family members ready in other countries in case they have to escape. They leave the Jewish people vulnerable and defenseless.  These people capitalize on increased anti-Semitism for their purposes.

All of us can see the situation deteriorating before our very eyes. Vandalism and violent attacks against Jews are on the rise. Police are regularly being assigned to protect Jewish sites. The time has come to do something.

Torah Jewry needs an organization that will represent them and deal with these problems in accordance with the unique methods of the Torah, without any agenda other than to save Jews. Bein Yisroel Lo’amim will be that organization.

They will work to disassociate Jews in general from those Jews who make inflammatory statements against non-Jews. Nowadays it has become commonplace for Jews to be somewhat careless when speaking or writing in public about non-Jews. It is claimed that since, in any case, anti-Semitism exists there is no point in being careful about what we say or do. This is a serious error. History has shown that much anti-Semitic propaganda has been based on what a few Jews actually did or said. The propagandists simply lump all Jews together with them.

Bein Yisroel Lo’amim’s staff of talmidei chachamim also plans to put together a book for the general market, explaining why the accusations against Judaism and the Talmud are false and groundless. The material will also be made accessible on this website. Also planned is a book that will give credit to the many gentiles who have been shining examples in their kindness and warmth toward the Jewish people.

Yirmiyah Hanavi (4:3) said, “Plow your field so that you don’t plant on top of thorns.. Jews have built houses, businesses, communities, and a better world for their children to live in — but all this is at risk due to rising anti-Semitism.  Let us do something to reduce that risk. A safer world is the best gift we can pass on to the next generation.

Bein Yisroel Lo’amim welcomes any questions, comments and suggestions regarding its work. We are also looking for sponsors and volunteers to give us the means to accomplish our goals.

The website, JewishResponse.com, will be our first project. After that we will proceed to other projects, in accordance with the funding available.
